1st day

We set off at 6.30 this morning and arrived at Penzance at 1.30 pm. We had Brunch and by 2.30 we set off for Lands End and registered at the Hotel for end to end. We headed back towards Penzance but skirted around it as we climbed out at 1 in 7 for 3/4 mile.
Having competed the photo opportunity we set off to Hayley and arrived there at 7.30 pm
We all agreed we should go to the pub for food & beer. Colin set the tone by ordering 6 pints of Tribute. The food was good as was the beer.
So 38 miles on day one after the Dartford drive was ok.J

Loaded & Ready to Go

I drove down to Dartford today and after changing brake blocks and damaged pedals we collected the hire van and have the bikes loaded up for an early start tomorrow.
Hopefully we have sorted out how we can update the Blogs along with pictures taken on the iPhone. I guess we will see over the following fee days.

Bank Holiday Weekend

Got out for a short ride this weekend but generally just getting things together ready for tomorrow, when I will be heading to Dartford where we collect the van to drive to Penzance on Wednesday and cycle to Land's End for a few photos and then on to Hayle for the first nights rest. Put new brake blocks on the bike and bought some overshoes as the weather doesn't look that great, but here's hoping that it will will be ok.

More trainning

I returned the favour by travelling to Dartford and we had an enjoyable trip to Heaverham and Ightham Moat where we asked a third party to take the photos for us after the previous attempts.

You'll note all three of us are in this photo!

Preparing for the ride

Colin and Ken came up to Bedford for a days ride and we managed to stop for refreshment along the way. Just thirty miles by way of an afternoon trip.
Ken was charged with taking the picture of all three of us but appears camera shy!!  That's his ear on the right.
